Job Description

The primary duties of the Iconic Adventures’ Event Director include design, budgeting, promotion, and execution of regional and national events. The Event Director will be an integral part of the management team and will assist in other marketing programs throughout the year.


  • Strategically plan, promote, and execute all Iconic events on an annual basis.
  • Project management, registration, staffing, transportation and general oversight and management of event operations.
  • Develop ride routes, manage logistics, and work with chambers of commerce, tourism offices, and officials to coordinate local efforts of the event host cities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with all event partners, sponsors, and supporters.
  • Manage online promotion through event website and social media.
  • Work with the management team to assist in execution of various marketing programs throughout the year.
  • Attend industry trade shows and events as needed to promote Iconic.
  • Assist the management team in exploring new markets and opportunities for Iconic and its clients.


  • Colorado residence required.
  • Prior experience with a cycling tour operator, focusing on researching, creating and managing cycling tours, hospitality programs and special events.
  • Event marketing experience with sponsor and cycling event management desired.
  • Demonstrated project management skills including prioritizing projects with multiple and often competing deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team in a goal-oriented environment.
  • Volunteer management experience preferred.
  • Must possess excellent budget management skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively and confidently with diverse audiences and personalities.
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays as necessary.
  • Above all, a passion for the outdoors and travel!


This is a Steamboat Springs or Colorado-based position to be filled immediately. Compensation will be based on qualifications. The ideal candidate will thrive in start-up atmosphere and will be an early-stage employee of a growing organization. The position has the option of being in the main office in Steamboat Springs or may work out of their home-based office. The position does require travel to all managed events, You will also receive a $900 Recreation Credit after 60 days of strong performance that can be used towards any pass in Colorado (ski pass, hot springs membership, yoga classes, etc.). Candidate to provide his or her own computer and phone with a monthly credit available to cover service charges.
