Job Description

The ideal candidate for the Business Development Associate position is ambitious, self-sufficient, goal oriented, and a strategic thinker that can close any sale and develop new account relationships. Oh, and you need to love travel and have either been to lots of places or dream of getting there. This is a part-time contract sales position demanding unmatched organizational and multi-tasking capabilities, and the ability to drive sales opportunities through creative and innovative approaches. Compensation is an hourly rate plus commission with no caps. This is a great opportunity for a self-starter to make a high income.


  • Lead generation: Develop sales leads via original research and other lead generation activities (catalog requests, trade show participation, industry associations) Ensure sales and account information is accurate and up-to-date. in the CRM system.
  • Marketing: Actively seek out and initiate new ways to market Iconic Adventures to identify prospective clients. Assist Iconic team with sales support programs such as the development and distribution of collateral, organization and execution of promotional programs, and account communication via email marketing. Additional marketing responsibilities may include assistance with trade show operations and logistics.
  • Sales Generation: Leverage existing and new potential contacts and convert to new sales.
  • Sales Tracking and Reporting: Enter and track all progress in, and provide weekly reports as well as weekly staff meeting updates to Iconic team.
  • Teamwork: As part of a small and growing company, we all play an equal and exciting role in growing the business, and this position will integrate into every facet of Iconic’s daily operations.


  • High aptitude for quickly learning trip logistics, cost structure and design.
  • 2+ years of sales experience, preferably in the outdoor/travel industry.
  • Excellent team communication and consistent first class customer service
  • Impeccable attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • An engaging, informative and friendly phone & email demeanor.
  • Ability to work with little supervision or direction, prioritizing short and long term projects on a day-to-day basis insuring accomplishment of personal and company goals.
  • Capacity to represent the values, ideals and ethics of the company both within the company and to external customers
  • Strong computer skills and ability to quickly master CRM
  • Above all, has a passion for travel and the outdoors!


This is a Steamboat Springs or Denver-based position to be filled immediately. Compensation will be based on qualifications. You will also receive a $900 Recreation Credit after 60 days of strong performance that can be used towards any pass in Colorado (ski pass, hot springs membership, yoga classes, etc.). Candidate to provide his or her own computer and phone with a monthly credit available to cover service charges.
